Fall Indoor Decor: Dining Room

how to create a neutral fall table

HAPPY FALL! As y’all can tell by social media, it’s my favorite time of the year! I love Halloween and fall and the beginning of the holiday season– mainly because that means lots of decorating! For me, seasonal decor means moving the same vase and/or pumpkin around my house 99 times. I am hoping since I’ve now shared it here, that I will stop adjusting it all. I think I have it just how I like it. It needs to be noted that I started decorating for fall about a month ago and I just settled on the way it looks to shoot it and share with y’all! I have linked the items above that are up all year: my round dining table, woven chairs, neutral dining ware, fiddle leaf fig (that I’ve somehow kept alive for awhile now) and the fur pelt on the back of my wishbone chairs. Let’s get into the fun stuff now… aka the fall stuff.

I love a good neutral table. I’ve had everything under the sun on this table trying to get it just right, but everything felt too colorful and/or chaotic. I finally settled on my centerpiece of this gold tray for a bold base, mixed glass vases with subtle greenery, a grey/pale green medium pumpkin and several small white pumpkins. I lined the runner with eucalyptus– mine is real but I will link a gorgeous faux I just invested in because, while I love the smell of the real thing, they do die eventually. For a dinner, I plan on adding tea candles on the runner for an intimate feel (which I keep in our entertaining closet for such occasions).

This place setting can be used all year long, with the addition of a festive topper per the appropriate holiday. I added a little white pumpkin and a twig of greenery to tie it into the centerpiece. For a dinner, I would even tie a name tag onto the stem of the pumpkin for assigned seating– perhaps on a eucalyptus leaf.

These personalized napkins were such a wonderful wedding present that I didn’t even think about asking for. It was given to me by a friend of my grandmother and I have adored them! They pull any table setting together and add a bit of warmth to the table. If you’re ever looking for a unique wedding present, this is a great one.
